Estate planning is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your family and your future. But we understand—it can feel overwhelming. That’s why Monteforte Law developed a proprietary system that breaks down the process into easy-to-follow steps, starting with something simple: attending one of our free and informative seminars.
Ready to begin? Let’s walk through the process together.
Step 1: Start the Process — Choose the Path That Works Best for You
Every client begins by getting clarity first. You can do that in one of two ways, depending on your schedule and learning style.
Some clients prefer to start with a Free Planning Consult, which is a short, focused conversation with a trained member of our team. During this call, we help clarify your goals, explain how estate planning works, review the planning levels we offer, discuss general pricing ranges, and determine whether working together makes sense. If it does, you’ll be invited to schedule a Design Meeting with one of our estate planning attorneys, where we move from overview to strategy.
Others prefer to begin with education by attending one of our estate planning webinars or seminars, which cover topics like Wills vs. Trusts, how probate works in Massachusetts, common planning mistakes, and how families protect assets and reduce risk. After a webinar, you may schedule a Free Planning Consult or, in some cases, be invited directly to a Design Meeting.
No time for a webinar? Don’t want to wait? Start with a Free Planning Consult.
Prefer to learn first? Start with a webinar.
Either way, the goal is the same: to ensure that when you meet with an attorney, the conversation is focused, productive, and tailored to your situation.
Step 2: Your Personalized Strategic Planning Session (SPS)
Once you’ve attended our seminar, the next step is to dive into your personalized planning. This begins with scheduling your Strategic Planning Session (SPS).
During your SPS, we use the Monteforte Law Wealth Preservation System, designed by Attorney Michael Monteforte, to determine the best estate plan for your specific needs. This is where we get into the details of your situation and craft a plan that protects what matters most.
What to expect at your SPS:
- Personalized Planning: Your estate plan is tailored specifically for you and your family.
- Interactive Session: Ask questions, clarify your concerns, and make sure you’re comfortable with every step.
- Homework: You may be asked to gather some additional information to finalize your plan—don’t worry, we make it easy!
Step 3: Finalize Your Estate Plan by Signing Your Documents
Now that your estate plan is ready, it’s time to make it official. The final step is coming in to sign your documents and receive your completed estate plan.
At Monteforte Law, we make this process seamless. You’ll leave with a fully executed estate plan, organized neatly in a tabbed binder, so you have everything you need in one place. From the moment you sign, your plan is fully in effect, and your family is protected.
Step 4: Ongoing Protection with 3-Year Check-Ins
Estate planning isn’t something you do once and forget. As your life changes, so should your estate plan. That’s why Monteforte Law invites all our clients to come back every three years for a check-in, making sure your plan still meets your needs.
This ongoing review gives you peace of mind knowing that your plan will always be up to date. It’s part of our commitment to being your Estate Planner For Life™. Keep an eye out for reminders when your check-in is due, or contact us today here if you need to update your plan sooner
Monteforte Law is here to guide you through every step of the estate planning process. From attending a free seminar to signing your documents, we’ve made it easy and straightforward. You’ll feel confident knowing that your family and assets are protected for the future.
