MassHealth Renewals

MassHealth will drop 300,000 people from coverage this year!

Yes, you read that correctly, and that information comes directly from Governor Maura Healey. You can read the article from Boston.com HERE.

This year, millions of Bay Staters will be required to file an application for renewal of their MassHealth benefits. MassHealth is using this renewal as a way to cut costs by dropping people from coverage! What they want, is for you to do your renewal application yourself, without legal help, so that you do it incorrectly and they can take away your coverage. This is not just a Massachusetts problem. The Federal Medicaid program is threatening to remove millions of people from their health care coverage, including long-term care benefits, over the next year. You can read more about the nation-wide issue HERE.

This action is based on a renewal process that requires individuals to fill out forms to verify their personal information, such as address, income, and household size. If Medicaid determines that someone is no longer eligible for the program, they can lose their benefits, including access to vital medical services, medications, and supports.

This situation is deeply concerning for anyone who depends on Medicaid for their health and well-being. It is especially suspicious that Medicaid is making this move now, after expanding its coverage by 20 million people since January 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems that Medicaid is trying to cut costs by limiting its support to only those who can prove their eligibility, even if they have been eligible before and nothing has changed in their circumstances.

To protect yourself from this risk, it is essential to have a qualified legal team review and prepare your Medicaid MassHealth long-term care renewal application. The renewal process can be confusing, complex, and time-consuming, and any mistakes or omissions can lead to a denial of benefits. By working with a law firm that has experience in Medicaid planning and advocacy, you can ensure that your application is accurate, complete, and compelling.

By reading this book, you can gain valuable insights and tips that can help you secure your Medicaid benefits and ensure your quality of life.

To illustrate just how suspicious MassHealth's actions can be, we want to share a story about one of our clients. This individual had been receiving Medicaid benefits for some time, but as the pandemic began to impact the country, MassHealth stopped checking the eligibility of its beneficiaries. However, now that things are slowly starting to return to normal, the agency has decided to start checking eligibility again.

Our client was asked to submit a renewal application, which she did on time, but MassHealth claimed they never received it. Our client had proof that the application was delivered on time, but MassHealth still denied her benefits. This is just one example of how frustrating and suspicious the actions of MassHealth can be.

Thankfully, our law firm was able to help our client fight back against MassHealth's unfair decision. We filed a lawsuit against the agency in court and ultimately succeeded in obtaining the benefits our client was entitled to.

We understand how difficult it can be to navigate the MassHealth system, and that's why we want to help. If you or someone you know is at risk of losing their Medicaid benefits, we urge you to reach out to our law firm for assistance. We can help draft the renewal application to ensure that all necessary information is included and that it is submitted on time.

MassHealth dropped coverage for my twin adult sons with Autism with no explanation. The MassHealth web site is a total mess and I can't get through to MassHealth by phone. Not sure what to do next. They will remove people from Health Care and then penalize them at tax time for not having coverage. Does this seem fair?
